Egads...over a month?

It's been a while since I posted anything, here. Had lots to gripe about, but not much of it really valid. I'm up, this early, to try to take Tina to the oral surgeon for the third time. This time, though, the consents are in place, from the county, so general anesthesia should not be a problem. Had a pretty good holiday season, which could be considered amazing, since both sets of parents were out. Really, though, it wasn't bad. One little "skirmish" with my mother-in-law, regarding application of discipline as it pertains to Bubba, in which I had to tell her "If you aren't going to be part of the solution, don't be part of the problem!" but other than that, we really had a good week (really, 9 or 10 days) with the parental units. This morning, I weighed myself...I hit a new low. 191!!! In addition, with the exception of a couple of small snafus, my sugars have been really, really good, including one AM reading under 100. We joined the YMCA, this month, too. I'm trying to get there a minimum of 3-4 times a week, and when I do, I get a good 45-60 minutes on the exercise bikes. I do a hill program, so I get the variable resistance going. Usually burn 300-400 calories, keep my heart rate up around 155-165, and get between 16 and 21-22 miles in (depending on if I do 45 or 60 minutes). It's a three-fold benefit thing...First, I get my heart rate up, so I burn off excess blood sugars. Second, I'm losing weight. Third, I'm trying to get some running speed and wind back, for the upcoming softball seasons. I used to be a lot faster than I am, and between losing weight and strengthening my legs, I should be able to pound the bases, and maybe play 2nd or short field again. And, if I can build up my wind, again, I should be able to run the bases and field without panting, so much. My goal is to get into and stay in the 180s. High 180s is fine, mid to low 180s is better. I was 180 when I met Laurie, and I'd like to get close to that, again. Besides, I'm going to need a whole new wardrobe of jeans/pants, shorts, etc. If I'm going to have to buy new clothing, anyhow, I might as well make the most of the situation, and just get down the lowest size I can. I'd really like to be back down to a 32-34 waist size, again. BTW...did I mention that I can almost get away with wearing spandex, again? ;-)

Mike, I think the weight loss and fitness it great, but spandex???? Sorry, that's just wrong.
