Today was a rough day. Had a good day in the field, actually, but a rough day at the plate.
We played a doubleheader, which I always enjoy, anyway. Here, it's more enjoyable, because the games are only an hour long, and I don't always feel like I got a good bit of exercise if I only get in one game.
Made a number of good plays at first, actually. Aside from the normal grounders thrown from other infielders to me, at first, for outs, I took a grounder to catch a runner, took a grounder and tossed it to the pitcher, caught a blooper for an out, and had a great 6-3-5 double play...quite possibly the best throw that I've had, across the diamond, in the entire time I've played softball.
At the plate, I'm afraid, it was a different story. In the first game, I was 1-4. First and third at-bats, I was, quite possibly, too patient at the plate, and hit long shots to right center field. Unfortunately, they were right to the right center fielder. The 2nd at-bat, I actually fouled out, again. 4th at-bat, I swung a little earlier and hit a long triple to left center, instead.
In the second game, I was 1-3, with a single, and a sac-fly. One RBI on that sacrifice, which is ok, but the other two outs were long fly balls to center. Same center fielder, too.
At least, this time, he actually had to run to make the catches...that made me feel a little better.
I won't be playing, next weekend. I'll be back in PA, for a camping trip. It might be good for me, though...I think I might really need a break.
Oh, yeah...I woke up at 130, this morning, and my reading, as I type this, was 132.
Interesting.
