Well, tonight turned out to be a better night than I anticipated.
I was a little concerned, at the outset. About an hour and a half after dinner, my sugars were at 212. Normally, I test 2 hours after a meal, but I had to leave for the bowling alley.
Then, I get to the alley...the lanes are slick as hell, and I just can't get my balls to roll, properly.
Get your minds out of the gutter...after all, I didn't throw any bowling balls there. ;-)
Anyhow, I wind up with a 165 for the first game. Needless to say, I was not pleased. However, we did win, as a team, the first game.
The second game, I pulled out a 192. I was mighty pleased. About halfway through the game, after experimenting with my normal line, using all three balls, and then going inside with two of them, I decided to go back outside, start out with my ball around the 5-7 boards, and drift it in.
The strategy worked, as the increase in score shows. So, I stuck with it.
I wound up stringing the first 6 strikes (although, in all fairness, I did throw two of them Brooklyn), and though I blew the 9th and the last half of the 10th (I did manage to strike on the first ball of the 10th), I wound up with a 231, finishing the night out with a 588.
I still don't have a 600, this season, but it's only the 4th week. I'm still looking for a 700 in this league, as I didn't manage one, last year.
And then, to top things off, I got home, tested my sugars at about 11:45, and they were only 119. That's nearly a 100 point drop from after dinner...I guess I shouldn't have been as worried as I was. Now, if I'm lucky, I'll actually wake up with a level under 120 for the first time since I started tracking.
Wish me luck.
