The battle of the bulge continues...

In the weight loss department, I'm still plateaued in the 199 to 202 lb. range. I can't quite get past that 199 and stay below it. Laurie found a mountain bike for me, this weekend, at a yard sale. It probably needs a tube for at least one wheel, and I either need to adjust the front brake cables or to replace the brake pads, but it'll probably be serviceable enough for me to start riding, again, and try to get my legs back into some real shape, again. I used to ride all the time, though it wasn't always by choice. Through high school and college, I rode everywhere because I didn't have a license, much less a car. Plus, in college, I used to 10-20 miles, nearly every day. Of course, that did wonders for my lower body, though it didn't do a blessed thing for anything above the waist. Now, Laurie's talking about joining the local Y, even if it's just for the summer. Of course, the only way to join without prepaying for the entire year is to let them do an ACH debit from your checking account. I'm not willing to set up and automatic debit from my account. I suppose that if she really wants to, she can from her account, but that's as far as I'm going with it. The pisser is that I know that she wants to do this in order to have something for Matthew and Miriya (the children for whom Laurie will be caring, this summer), but the cost is going to offset the income she'll be making, by at least 25%. I'm not so sure that that's an equitable deal for Laurie. However, other than here, I think I'll just keep my mouth shut. Any time I open my mouth to give an opinion, analysis, or other comment, it just usually turns out badly. Safer to let her go with it, I guess. Oh, well...I guess I'll sit here and continue to listen to the 1134 songs I've got on my system. Oy!!!
